Why would he be hollow? If anything, he would be more disappointed to know that his prized specimen is gone, and all of the experiments, training, and mako treatments were just a big waste of time and money (or gil).

Fantastic! ^^ I love how you made Hojo look so weary here. His shoulders forward, his hair drooping over his shoulder, how his eyes are partly hidden by his glasses rims and his eyelids and yet they're conveying a lot of emotion. It looks like pensiveness--but it also looks like something else, more undefinable. His furrowed brow contribute to that, too. I like how you did his eyebrows. I like how you drew his stray hairs, they're strategically all over the place, and yet they kind of look soft. I love this piece! ^^

I really enjoy how you've opted to draw Hojo in a sympathetic light while still making him appear middle-aged and fairly non-bishonen-esque. It's far too often that people stray to the extremes of making him an ebony-hair waif or a cackling archetypal villain. Great work.

...this is EXACTLY how I imagined Hojo after this scene in one of my fics... the title you put fits perfectly his expression, he looks really tormented by very different feelings inside and empty at the same time. a loss that's hard to accept even with all the logic in the world...
I love for drawing this, I so love you for drawing this :heart:
